Bowtie Cat Chaser - New Product Review

Update 10/27: there are different kinds of chasers, Pandora actually has the Bowtie, not the Ringtail. The kitties ran off with the package label and I didn't realize I was using the wrong name for her toy.

Pandora is allowing me to write this product review on her behalf because she is too busy playing with the ~~Ringtail~~ Bowtie Cat Chaser toy that she got in the mail yesterday.

Bowtie Cat Chaser Toy from Nip and Bones

The first thing I saw when I brought in the mail yesterday afternoon was an envelope from Nip and Bones. Pandora is a member of Baby Patches' Tester Team for new products at the online pet store Nip and Bones, and this was the first package we had received.

Before we could test the new toy I had to run a quick errand, so I left the mail on the counter and off I went. When I got home, the package was gone. You can't keep my kitties away from a good toy.

Gotcha!

Luckily it wasn't too difficult to find the unopened package. The cats were gathered around, so I opened it up. The enclosed packet includes two Bowtie Cat Chaser Toys as seen in the first picture, which I tossed across the room one at a time.

All three kitties were on the chase! There are only two toys so Pandora and Ramses ended up getting the first playtime. Don't worry, Mr. Boots has been playing with them too.

All three cats love the Bowtie Cat Chaser Toy. The toys have been tossed in the air to catch or chase, pushed across the floor like hockey pucks, kicked around like soccer balls and carried all over the house. The cats have even taken them out on the catio, where they are usually too engaged in bird-watching to bother with toys.

We have a consensus, 3 out of 3 cats approve of the Bowtie Cat Chaser Toy.

[Herz here: Pandora is so much better today it's a huge relief. She is alert and interested in things and eating well. The first two times we did the steaming and percussion (tapping her chest to loosen phlegm) she was ok with it, the third time I got two paws and Panda doesn't give second chances so I stopped. I'll try again tomorrow - wish me luck.]

Pandy's Herz here again with an update on my girl.

Pandora is home and doing much better today. Here she is telling me it's time to take off the bandage from where her iv was.

Yesterday Pandy started to have more respiratory distress late in the day, so she ended up spending the night at the hospital. They put her in an oxygen cage and also gave her a nebulizer treatment and did more x-rays. She was already looking better when I left her last night. She was discharged this morning with a diagnosis of asthma with pneumonia. We still don't have the Valley Fever results but think that's less likely now.

Pandy is happy to be home. I will continue her antibiotics and she'll have to sit in a steamy bathroom several times a day for the next few days. I'll be keeping a close eye on my girl!

I want to thank you all again for your support and love. It means a lot and I know it helped Pandy feel better.

Guest Post: Update on Miss Pan

Hi everyone. I have been given permission by Pandora to write a blog update on her health. This weekend Pandora started to have repeated episodes of breathing difficulty. All of my cats have had an episode here and there but this was happening too frequently. She was still acting normal except for these episodes and I couldn't tell she wasn't feeling well. I continued to watch on Monday but by mid-day I called the vet.

On Tuesday Pandora was seen. They did an x-ray of her chest and they drew blood. The vet showed me Pan's x-ray and her poor little lungs don't look good. Her blood results done in office don't look especially like an asthmatic kitty. The vet thinks Pandy either has bacterial pneumonia or Valley Fever. Pandy's blood was sent for testing on that, and the vet hopes to have the results by Saturday.

Meanwhile my beautiful girl had an injection of steroid and I am giving her liquid antibiotics. If this turns out to be bacterial pneumonia then Pan should start to feel better today or tomorrow. If it is Valley Fever then Pandora will need to be on treatment for a year. The best case is bacterial pneumonia, in which case I will continue the antibiotic for 10 days.

Last night I woke up around 3am to Panda having a breathing episode. That was the only time I woke but I'm not sure she didn't have other episodes that I missed. Other than her breathing Pandora is acting fine. I can tell she doesn't feel well but like most cats she hides it well.

I can't tell you how much all of her anipal's love and support is helping Pandy stay strong. It means a lot to her and to me. Thank you so much!

Hello furrends I'm taking over Pandora's blog today. She said it was ok because she has been too busy packing up and getting ready to come join me and mom in Tucson.

ohai!

I want to tell you how this moving adventure has been going so far. First I came on a huge airplane all the way from Boston to Tucson about elebenty hundred days ago. Mom brought me on the plane in my Sherpa case and it was horrible. There was lots of jerking me around and stuffing me into dark corners and it took days and days to get here.

Since we've been here I have to live in a single room with mom. The door is open but I stay in my room most of the time even though mom is always going out. I do have a great window with bird tv on all the time and mom plays fun games with me, but I'm lonely. I miss Mr. Boots and Panda soooo much. Mom keeps saying they will be coming here with us and finally she says tomorrow is the day!

Getting settled in the Sherpa carrier

I sure hope Mr Boots and Pandora like the way I have decorated the room for them. I have lots of balls for us to play chase and I've been breaking in Pandora's new da bird toy. I only sort of nommed on the feathers just enough to make them taste gooder for her.

I'm getting ready to give purrs and snuggles to help them feel better. I hope it works so they will play games with me!

Anipals, mai furrends (@theMeowskis on twitter) iz taking part in The Pepsi Refresh Project to raise moneys for building a facilitee for teh kittehs at The Forever Home Feline Ranch.

Mai furrends say "Currently, the Forever Home Feline Ranch has over 50 cats in its care, and building the Ranch would enable us to rescue hundreds of more cats. With the $250k grant we could build the main cat facility, finish building and property maintenance (the caretaker's home has no insulation right now, and a couple lives there!), and build an indoor/outdoor feral cat facility. Building the feral cat facility would allow us to take in feral cats that aren't adoptable, but that can't be released back into the area they were taken from."

Last weekend wuz teh combined wedding shower/bachelor pawty at teh Westgate Smokey Mountain Resort in beautiful Gatlinburg, TN. Teh pawty wuz followed on twitta wiv #PPPawty an it so much fun that it haz taken me all week to recover enuff to update mai bloggy!

Getting Married

Dear furrendz if you haz not heard teh nooz already I wud like to announce dat I iz marrying mai sweetheart, @Petiethecat. We met on twitter and Petie did fall in luvs wiv me but I wuz involved wiv a dear frend on a very open relayshunship an I thawts I did not want to evar be serious and settle down to marry. But thanks to twitta bein such a frendly place I did keep being frendz wiv @Petiethecat and I started to fall in love wiv he. We gotted engajed an Peter did give me a bewtiful diamond ring, but I wuz still wary of entering teh matrimoneeal condishun. Time went on an I just luv Petie more efurry day, I realized I did want to be hiz wifecat an so I proposed to Petie by placing a pawsonal ad in the Anipal Times. I wuz so happy when Petie said YES! Hiz arrival came az a complete shock to me. First She left us over teh holiday, then She iz only home one day an this kitten shows up. Mr Boots an I were not happy abow this introoder, even tho She promised us we would like he.

Well, here iz teh story dat reskew ladee told us. Dis lady wuz walking in a field an she fownd a box an it wuz full of kittens. They kittens wuz covered in filth an had burns from teh amonia an infextions too. But the kittens gotted reskewed an fixed up to be healthy an go to foster homes until they fownd furever homes. Can you imagine someone who could do such a thing?

Since he came I haz been keeping a close eye on this kitten. He's not dumb an he may be planning something nawty.

I haz already caught Ramses playing wiv mai plague ratsies, as a matter of fact he iz playing wiv all of mai toys! He claims to come from a long line of royal cats but he better learn dat I iz teh Queen of mai domayne.

Also, he iz not allowed to take over mai puter. I iz having to guard it sinse I caught him trying.

Mr Boots haz been his ushual grayshus self an buddy'd up to Ramses. He is akting like they iz frendz. But that kitten is skareded of me, so I know something isn't kwite rite. I shall continue to watch he until I figure owt wat hiz game iz.

Helping Out in Memory of Lost Loved Ones

I has met lots of grate tweeples on twitter. That includes anipals and humans as well as other critters of all kinds. It's a wonderful way to has fun, give an get support, and learn new things.

Recently I has met @gafunnyfarm which is the twitter personality for The Funny Farm, a non-profit free-roam animal sanctuary in the state of Georgia. Right now they is raising funds to help pay for a fence for 2 acres of land set aside for kitties. If you make a donayshun you can haz a plaque in memory of a speshul kitty an help lots an lots of new kitties at the same time.

I's been bad abowt updating mai bloggy becuz it has been a buzy summer for me. I has some pictures from mai (virtual) trip to Tucson in the hot month of July.

This was the front yard, I had so much fun watching owtside the window becuz there are so many small animals, grownd squirrels, bunnies, lizards and birdies. But I can only watch an never go owt becuz there is hawks and coyotes that eat small anipals like me.
